A trip to the beach, Pacific Northwest style!

We just came back from a really fun weekend with many of our friends at the beach. It was called Pacific Beach and it was 3 hours away from Seattle. That is how far we have to go to get to real ocean. Also since it is December it was cold, that is 32F cold and even colder in the evenings but the sun was out and it warmed a little bit of our days. We played a lot, got dirty at the beach and also read many books, that one seemed to be our favorite activity.

Here Declan's dad, Chris, is reading Annika, me, Declan and Jaden a bedtime story:

And here I am having fun at the beach!

Winter here I come! My parents got me cross-country skis even though I may have to wait another season...
Slide, here I come!
I think I may become a chef. Daddy told mommy that she could not buy me a stove since those are for "girls" so she made me one. I love it!

Auntielaine's for Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving at Auntielaine's house with the whole Floyd gang. There was lots of food and people and fun to be had! Everybody was calling Auntielaine "grandma", so I decided that I liked better that name and started calling her "anma". We will have to see if it sticks over time.

No better time to read Curious George than in the middle of dinner prepping.

And I am actually starting to like hats. They keep me warm. Here are some fun photos from this fall.

I'm a bee- bzzz

Today is Halloween and a dressed up as a bee. This evening I learned to trick or treat, even though I was shy at my neighbor's doors and mama or daddy had to be with me every time. But I had fun walking with my new friends Maxime and Si. Maxime lives across the street and her parents hosted a party for all of us.

Dylan can talk

On Dylan's latest doctor check up they asked me if he could say 7 words. I was happy to confirm that he had a lot more than 7. And it made me think that I should keep an "inventory" on a monthly basis. Here is where we are today (in English because he only speaks to the nanny in Spanish):

People:
da-da = dad
ma-ma = mom
Pia = Pilar
Fashees = Frances

Food:
Cheesh = cheese
Agua = water, milk
Joosh = juice
caker = cracker or cookie
No real words but cute: Ba = banana and shhes = cheerios

Animals:
Dog = dog
Fishhh = fish
Beh = bear
Animal sounds: woof woof, meah-meah = cat, ssss = snake

Things:
boh = ball
car = car
boo = boot
watch = watch
babuh = bubbles
bah = bath
shoosh = shoes
keysh = keys
by = bike

others:
hi, bye-bye
"aya" = over there in spanish.
no = it is starting...

Other than these words, he is now repeating every sound he hears...I am sure his vocabulary will just continue to evolve every day.

Went to a wedding and I missed it!

Mom and dad's friends Mark and Tarena were married this past weekend in the mountain resort of Mt. Springs Lodge. We stayed in a HUGE and beautiful cabin full of my parent's friends, which meant Christina was there too. It has been a long time since we last spent a weekend together and it was even more fun now that we are older and can chase eachother. The whole point of the weekend trip was to attend the wedding but it took place at the sane time as my afternoon nap and I could not wait for it. So my mommy and I went back to the cabin for a little bit. At least we were able to attend the reception and I danced not only with Christina but also my new friend Violet...I was a popular boy!

The Zoo with Uncle Clarence and the Hoovers

My uncle Clarence is visiting from LA and today I took him to the Seattle Zoo. I knew it wouldn't be a perfect zoo day without Annika so I asked my mommy to invite her as well. It was a beautiful sunny day and I most enjoyed the day. I decided not to take a nap so by the end I was very tired, but most of the trip was fun!

Dylan goes camping!

Mom and dad have been waiting until I could walk to go camping, so since now I am mostly a pro at that task, we all went camping over Labor Day weekend. The weather forecast called for rain so we headed towards Leavenworth, east of the mountains, to try to avoid the rain. It did not work. It rained and it was wet and I LOVED it. Mom and dad decided not to fuzz about how dirty I got, and that worked fine with me.
From Dylan goes Camping

I climbed rocks, and threw rocks and played with dirt. But also just hang out and went for walks and a bike ride with mom and dad.

Oh, and I slept through the night which I guess it is a big deal.

Just being Dylan

I've been having fun lately. First I discovered bubble baths. Bubbles or like I call them bu-ba are the best when you blow on them!
From More summer fun

This past weekend we went bike riding along Lake Washington. Mom is a great rider but I also had fun watching dad on his bike.

Mom note: Tonight Dylan found his giraffe costume from last Halloween and he "asked" me to put it on him. This is the same kid that fights me whenever I try to dress him. He patiently waited as I stuffed him in the costume that was too small for him. And then went to our bedroom to show da-da. He was so excited and SO cute!

Surf's up in LA!

Last weekend we went to LA for my mom's high school reunion but we did much more than that! We went to the beach and got to play in the water - I loved it! We also visited with some old and new friends and of course also played with Isa, Grandpa Clarence and my cousins Brianna and Zachy.

I love water!

I love playing with water and even better if it is with my friend Annika!
From Fun in the sun

Small notes from mom:

Walking: Dylan took his first four steps a couple of weeks ago. Ever since he loves to walk while holding someone's finger or just take the same four steps between Don and I.

Talking: 3 words
da-da or doh = dad (i think the doh is because I say Don)
agua = juice, water (spanish for water)
ou-ou-ou = dog (like barking)
and LOTS of gibberish, almost non-stop.

Play: Dylan loves to fit things in things, push buttons and climb everything.

PEPS babies turn 1!

A year flies by and all the little babies are now actively crawling and a couple even walking. My PEPS friends and I had a joint birthday party on Saturday at Grace's house. It was SO much fun! We were too mobile to get a group picture this time around.
Here, Eli and I are trying to "figure out" Campbell.

Food-all-over

I am determined to learn how to use a spoon and make the food go in my mouth. But right now it is a little more fun to see much food I can get everywhere but my mouth!

American River Guard Station

We went cabin camping this weekend along the shores of the American River east of Mt.Rainier. I really enjoyed myself but my parents were a little bit tired of trying to keep me away from my first bonfire and the shores of the big river by the cabin. The best part was hanging out with my friends Annika and Declan. I wish I could walk like them because crawling was a bit difficult to do with all the dirt and sticks and stuff in the forest.

My first pool

I just had so much fun in the sun! I have an inflatable pool and as I discovered this afternoon it is so much more fun than the bathtub! I climbed in and out and even face-planted in the grass. So much fun to be had!

Goats and cows and horses

Today we had a wonderful time at Kelsey Creek park with our friends the Monfores. We first enjoyed a picnic in the sun and then we walked over to the little farm that is part of the park. I loved all the animals. I pet my first goat and horse and watched the cow moo. I loved that.

The sun finally came out today Sunday and it was warm enough for me and my mom to hang out in the backyard, while dad did yard work.
